Dhyey Mill Test Report - MTR
by Dhyey Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd.
A Mill Test Report is a QC/QA document confirm that a product complies with industry standards.
MTR is a quality assurance document used in the metals industry that certifies a material's chemical and physical properties and states a product made of metal (steel, aluminum, brass, or other alloys) comply with international standards organization (such as ANSI, ASME, etc.) specific standards and customer requirement.
Vendors and manufacturers submit the MTRs for the materials they supply to the customer with different test reports. The Quality Inspectors validate these test reports against their own Technical Specifications and update records with heat code and test parameters obtained.
Dhyey Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. has developed the Mill Test Report add-on for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to record products quality parameters that meet the company’s specified standards.
Mill Test Reports are also known as:
Certified Mill Test Report (MTR)
Certified Material Test Report
Mill Certification
Mill Inspection Certificate
Mill Test Certificate (MTC)
Certificate of Test
FEATURES:
* Prepare material standards along with material category.
* Material standards include Chemical Analysis / Composition, Mechanical Properties, and various mechanical tests.
* Record results from report received from vendors and manufacturers, test carried out in inhouse lab for incoming materials and produced product out of that.
* Integrate certificate and MTR with sales shipment.
Mill Test Report includes:
* Unified certificate number.
* Sales Details: Order and Delivery note number, customer information.
* Product details: Product and raw material part number, description, and related information. Material Grade, Raw material Heat Number, Manufacturer / Mill Heat number, country of origin, markings.
* Specification and Compliance Standards: Report confirms that the material meets specific industry or customer standards.
* Manufacturer details: Origin of material, name and details of Manufacturer / Mill, Edition Year and Type of Specifications
* Material Dimensions and visual inspection
* Ladle analysis, CE Formula ASTM A106B
* Chemical Analysis / Composition: Lists elements such as carbon, manganese, Sulphur, and other alloying components.
* Heat Treatment.
* Record Certified Inspection agency / Inspector.
* Various other tests: Record results from various tests conducted on the material, including tensile tests, hardness tests, pipe test, hydra test, and impact tests, demonstrating that the material meets the required specifications.
* Select print paper style and add logo, image.
* Additional notes and remarks.
BENEFITS:
Verification & Quality Assurance: Confirm that metal products meet specified chemical compositions and mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield, hardness) for their intended use.
Traceability & Accountability: Link each product to its specific production batch (heat number) and test results, ensuring transparency.
Risk Mitigation: Prevent material failures by allowing engineers to confirm suitability before use, avoiding expensive rework or safety issues.
Compliance & Standards: Provide documented proof of adherence to international standards (ASTM, ISO, ASME) and regulations.
Customer Confidence: Build trust by demonstrating that materials meet project specifications, leading to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Operational Efficiency: Support organized production, quality management systems (like ISO), and streamlined collaboration through centralized data.
Regulatory Adherence: Help companies meet documentation requirements, often needing MTRs retained for several years.
